Montrell Ford

Father of 1 daughter and 1 son

"The fatherhood program has shown me that there are people who understand my situation. With the way the South Carolina laws are written, it is tough for a father to succeed when he has seen tough times. People tend to think, 'You're a man, fix your problems, get a job.' But even strong men need someone to lean on. This program provides that stability for me. It gives me hope that the system can be adjusted to not press laws against fathers who are trying to do what's right for their families. Good fathers deserve and need visitation rights to their children, but in order to get them, it costs thousands of dollars to stand before a judge and be awarded them. For fathers who face barriers to steady employment or visitation to their children, this program is a godsend."
