SCCFF Celebrates A Father's Place Annual Building Futures Awards Gala

The 5th Annual Building Futures Awards were presented by A Father's Place (AFP), a fatherhood ministry headquartered in Conway, SC. On hand were more than 200 people to celebrate the impact of the ministry in the surrounding communities of Horry, Georgetown, and Williamsburg counties. Held at the Barefoot Resort, this celebration included speakers, awards, the debut of a new video about the ministry, and a raffle featuring a 2023 Club Car Onward.

This year's award winners are:

  • Community Partnership - Optimism Preventive Services
  • Public Safety - Chief Amy Prock, Myrtle Beach Police Department
  • Government Leadership - Rep. Carla Schuessler
  • Government Leadership - Justin Jordan
  • Small Business - Winslow Law
  • Corporate Leadership - OrthoSC
  • "Help A Dad Realize a Dream" - Milton Busby
  • Making Strides - Weston Howell
  • Father of the Year - Jim Rogers
  • Larry A. White Lifetime in Leadership - Etta Greene Carter
  • Pinnacle - Jody Tamsberg

The Club Car winner was Kelly Tyler.

Halley Murrow of WMBF was emcee.

A Father's Place is one of six fatherhood ministries throughout South Carolina working in a coalition with the South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families in Columbia. We are delighted for the impact of AFP and celebrate with each one who participated, sponsored, and were recognized for their special contribution to the future of dads and families.
