"Cheerful Giver" Continues Support with $10,000 Gift
Executive Director Pat Littlejohn leaps for joy as she accepts the $10,000 donation from the "Cheerful Giver".
The Center received a generous and unexpected $10,000 from The Cheerful Giver, an anonymous donor through the Central Carolina Community Foundation, the nonprofit organization that links charitable people and businesses with areas of need in our community. This inspiring donor is simply described by the Foundation as "an ordinary person who donates funds to nonprofits in appreciation of their efforts to serve the community".
Funds from The Cheerful Giver will be used to support access to men's health services for program participants in Richland, Lexington, Marlboro, Lancaster and Spartanburg counties.
Low-income men are most vulnerable when it comes to health and healthcare. Many fathers suffer from health conditions that prevent them from retaining employment and supporting their children and families. Our fatherhood programs offer a men's health component where men gain access to health education, screenings and other health care services.
"We are truly grateful for this generous gift from the Cheerful Giver. A large number of men who seek our services come to us in poor health. Health issues should not stand in the way of men being able to work and provide for their children and families," said Executive Director Pat Littlejohn. "This donation makes it possible for more of our dads to get the medical attention they need. It is truly a blessing."
"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7
