Get Ready! May 3rd is coming! The South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families is excited to be participating in Central Carolina Community Foundation’s Midlands Gives Day. Midlands Gives is an 18-hour online giving challenge and we challenge you to help us meet our goal of $10,000. We believe that now more than ever, we need to reach our local young men to set them on the right path. This is why we are fundraising to support two of our programs. Specifically, our funds raised from the Midlands Gives event will be used to expand our program for young men, Reality Check, and also to support our literacy initiative, giving young children a strong foundation with engaged fathers by providing opportunities to bond over children’s books.

We are working to expand our Reality Check curriculum by funding summer sessions for male youth ages 16-22. Our reading initiative involves installing Little Free Libraries, making sure books are available at our local fatherhood organizations, and encouraging fathers to spend time with their children through reading.
