You've got questions, we've got answers.
What is the mission of the South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families?
Our mission is to provide the means for fathers to become great dads.
What is the role of the South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families?
We advocate for fathers and father-friendly policies at the state level; educate families, leaders and the public about the importance of fathers; and provide fatherhood programs and support services at the local level.
Is there someone who can speak to our organization about father absence?
Yes! Our experts can address a variety of fatherhood topics. Contact us to learn more.
Do you help pay child support?
No—however, through our local fatherhood programs and information on our website, we help fathers better understand their obligations and how to navigate the child support system.
Do you provide legal advice or a lawyer to help with child support, custody or visitation?
No, though our website contains significant information about child support, custody, and visitation with links to resources that can help fathers file paperwork and represent themselves in court. If you need an attorney, contact a local fatherhood organization near you. Your local organization may be able to recommend an attorney who understands child support issues and who may provide legal services at a reasonable rate.
How can I or someone I know sign up for a fatherhood program?
Find our fatherhood organization nearest you by using our locator map. Every local program is eager to help. Feel free to call, email or go by in-person to learn more about the programs they have available, when they are offered, and how to sign up.
Are you a non-profit organization?
Yes, we are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
